These days, Kirk Cameron is best known for his commitment to Christian-based causes. But for six years in the mid ’80s to early ’90s, he was the one and only Mike Seaver, the wisecracking eldest son on Growing Pains.

And although his sitcom days may be long behind him, Kirk still has fond memories of the iconic ABC series (co-starring Canada’s own Alan Thicke!). So many, in fact, that he chose to share a few during his Monday appearance on the Hallmark Channel talk show, Home & Family.

Chatting with hosts Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare, the 44-year-old explained that fans still approach him about his time on Growing Pains as a way to cope with their ongoing “Seaver Fever.”;

“My grandma taught me, ‘You starve a cold. You feed a fever,'” he noted, adding, “I try to feed the fever by giving them six seasons of Mike Seaver in 60 seconds.”
