CeeLo Green Remakes Rick Springfield’s ‘Jessie’s Girl’ Into Hilariously Weird Ode To Beyonce

Rick Springfield may have climbed to the top of the ’80s pop charts by declaring he wished that he had “Jessie’s Girl”, and now CeeLo Green has transformed the song into a hilariously odd ode to Beyonce with “Jay-Z’s Girl”.

In the new video — released, appropriately enough, on Valentine’s Day — Little Fun plays a young CeeLo, who is seen singing the song while worshipping Beyonce in his bedroom shrine to the “Single Ladies” chart-topper.

Directed by John Colombo, the music video features the CeeLo stand-in singing such verses as: “Jay Z is the king / And I’m probably his biggest fan / But there’s a feeling inside that I’m sure he’d understand / I’m in love with Bey and I wanna be her man.”

Coming from the guy who managed to make a song called “F*** You” into a hit and once fronted a group called Gnarls Barkley, “Jay-Z’s Girl” is right in line with what we’d expect.

Of course, after seeing CeeLo’s 1950s sci-fi movie get up at Sunday’s Grammys, the new video isn’t even close to the weirdest thing he’s done this week:
