The film is being celebrated for showing a darker side to DC Comics character, the King of Atlantis. Not to mention, giving the people what they want: more shirtless Momoa.

No stranger to action scenes, the 37-year-old Hawaii native won the hearts of fans as Khal Drogo in “Game of Thrones” and nabbed the starring role in Discovery’s first scripted series “Frontier”, where his honed axe-throwing skills have come in handy.

With the film set to start shooting this summer, it looks like the action scenes are in good hands as the stunt company has worked on films like “John Wick 2”, “Expendables 3”, “The Hunger Games” and “Jurassic World”.

“Aquaman” is set for release Oct. 5, 2018 and co-stars Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman and Willem Dafoe.
