The town of Castle Rock, Maine, has been the setting of several tales of terror from “master of horror” Stephen King, and now the fictional town will also serve as the title of a new Hulu anthology series from King and exec producer J.J. Abrams (“Lost”, “Star Trek”, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, etc., etc.).
While details on the upcoming series are being kept under lock and key, what we do know is that it will weave together themes and characters from King’s books that have been set in Castle Rock, including “The Dead Zone”, “Needful Things”, “The Dark Half” and numerous others.

Each season of the show will reportedly focus on a new set of characters while touching on themes introduced in earlier seasons and, presumably, the books.
A teaser trailer was shared on Twitter by both Abrams (via his Bad Robot account) and King.
“JJ Abrams and I want to invite you to take a trip to Castle Rock. Soon. Be afraid,” King tweeted, while Abrams shared a handwritten note with a link to the trailer on YouTube, writing, “What IS the hoax in the forest?”
The premiere date of “Castle Rock” has yet to be revealed.
