George Clooney is in France to receive the Cesar Award, the nation’s national film award, and spoke with interviewer Laurent Weil about receiving this prestigious honour.
Naturally, the topic of Clooney’s impending parenthood came up, with Clooney opening up about the recent news that he and wife Amal are expecting twins.
Discussing becoming a first-time father in his mid-fifties, Clooney referenced French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, who fathered a child at 70. “So I feel better about myself,” he joked.
“Look, it’s exciting and we are really happy and really excited,” Clooney remarked. “It’s going to be an adventure. And we’ve sort of embraced all these changes in our lives with arms wide open, so we’re excited.”

He addsed: “My favourite part is that all my friends who are my age have already done this and the kids are already grown up and on their way to college. And they are laughing…”
