Ricky Gervais Leaves Stand-Up Gig After Feeling Like He Had A Heart Attack

Ricky Gervais reveals he was forced to leave a stand-up gig after feeling like he was suffering a heart attack.

During a live comedy performance in Bristol on Wednesday night, the 55-year-old comedian and former Golden Globes host, exited the stage for approximately 10 minutes before returning to finish his set, the Evening Standard reports.

Gervais later shared with fans what exactly happened behind the scenes, tweeting, “Thanks to the amazing audience in Bristol tonight. They even laughed when I thought I was having a heart attack.”

He explained that the reason for his quick exit was not, in fact, due to a heart attack, but was most likely caused by some sort of stomach bug. “Think I’ve got a little bug of some sort. Blocked up, bit hot, sore stomach. Also I’m foaming at the mouth and terrified of water. Weird,” he tweeted.
