‘Hidden Fences’ Gaffe Resurfaces At The Oscars

Not again!

After multiple red carpet commentators caught heat at the 2017 Golden Globes for confusing the titles of nominated films “Hidden Figures” and “Fences”, the mistake has been made once again at this year’s Academy Awards.

People editor Jess Cagle also made the gaffe during the Oscars Live pre-show, mashing up the titles as “Hidden Fences” during an interview.

But just as quickly as the moment happened, the Internet managed to latch onto it and air out its collective displeasure.

Sadly, the mix-ups didn’t stop there. One Twitter user caught GIF generator GIPHY confuse Taraji P. Henson for Viola Davis, and made sure to call them out.

The Toronto International Film Festival’s Twitter account also mistook Davis for Octavia Spencer in a since-deleted tweet.
