Along with a night of amazing fashion, Sunday’s Oscars is a night full of political statements.

Everyone already knows Emma Stone is on every best-dressed list for this year’s Oscars, but what some may not have noticed was a small gold Planned Parenthood pin on her stunning gold Givenchy dress.

Stone was not the only Oscar attendee to make a political statement, “Fifty Shades Darker” star Dakota Johnson also sported the Planned Parenthood logo on her clutch.

Director Ava DuVernay used her dress to make a subtle comment on the U.S. President Donald Trump’s travel ban. She stunned in a gown designed by a studio from a majority Muslim country. DuVernay showed off the beautiful gown and its designers, Ashi Studio from Lebanon, on Twitter:

And before heading to the Academy Awards, DuVernay tweeted a photo of her sweatshirt in support of Trayvon Martin, who was killed at age 17 five years ago.

Several stars, including nominees Lin-Manual Miranda and Ruth Negga also wore blue ribbons in support of the American Civil Liberties Union.
