Well, that was the most awkward thing to happen at the Oscars since Roberto Benigni smooched Halle Berry.
The Academy has some explaining to do after the wrong film was named Best Picture.
Producers of “La La Land” were nearly done their acceptance speeches, when Jordan Horowitz returned to the microphone announcing, “we lost by the way” adding, “this is not a joke.”
After the jaws dropped and the right film was given the credit it so widely deserved, Best Actress winner Emma Stone addressed the mix-up backstage.
“I f**king love ‘Moonlight’,” Emma told reporters. “God, I love ‘Moonlight’ so much. I’m so excited for ‘Moonlight’. Of course, it was an amazing thing to hear ‘La La Land’. I think we all would have loved to win Best Picture, but we are so excited for ‘Moonlight’.”

The actress also addressed rumours that it was her Best Actress card that Warren Beatty read from.
“I was also holding my Best Actress in a Leading Role card that entire time,” she said. “So whatever story – I don’t mean to start stuff, but whatever story that was I had that card. So I’m not sure what happened.”
Adding her two cents, Stone said she remains uncertain if the mix-up is the “craziest Oscar moment of all time.”
“I don’t know if this is a measurable question,” she said. “Cool. We made history tonight, craziest moment.”
