Former ‘Bachelorette’ Kaitlyn Bristowe Says Show Creator Wouldn’t Sign Off On ‘DWTS’ Gig

“Bachelorette” star Kaitlyn Bristowe revealed she had a “Dancing with the Stars” contract in hand, but was not allowed to sign it.

The news came out after this season’s “Bachelor” Nick Viall was cast as a member of season 24 of the popular reality dance competition show. A fan first asked Bristowe why she had not previously been asked to take part in the show. The Canadian television personality accused creator of Mike Fleiss of refusing to let her take part in the show because “he didn’t want people wanting fame” after appearing on one of his “Bachelor” franchise shows.

If true, Fleiss’ statement would contradict the fact that Viall has just secured a gig on “DWTS”. Fliess tweeted at Alberta-born Bristowe, saying she has his “total support” to appear on “Dancing with the Stars”.

That, however, was not enough for Bristowe who bit back with plenty of fire and sarcasm. “Thanks,” she wrote, “I’ll get right on that opportunity 2 yrs ago.”

Season 24 of “Dancing with the Stars” is shaping up to be an interesting showcase with a compelling blend of celebrities. Performing alongside Viall are Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei, “The A-Team” star Mr. T and former “Glee” actress Heather Morris.

Here’s what Bristowe told ET Canada about being approached to appear in “Dancing With the Stars” back in 2015, explaining that she turned down the offer in order to focus on her relationship with “Bachelorette” fiance Shawn Booth:
