Jon Bon Jovi Invites Daughter Onstage To Dance With Him — During Song He Wrote For Her

There was plenty of daddy-daughter bonding going on during Bon Jovi’s concert in Las Vegas on Saturday when front man Jon Bon Jovi invited his daughter, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, to share a dance with him during the band’s performance of “I’ve Got the Girl”.

Bon Jovi wrote the track for his daughter when she was just a little girl, and she first joined him onstage when she was seven years old to dance with her old man.

Now 23, Stephanie once again joined her father onstage to boogie along with the song, with dad and daughter dancing exuberantly in front of the Vegas crowd.

“Everybody’s got a little girl in their life,” the 54-year-old rocker said midway through the song. “Their daughter, their girlfriend, their wife, their mamma — it all goes by so fast. And they start out as little bitty babies and their future’s looking bright. And I wrote this song for that little baby, who’s now not such a little baby anymore.”

At that point, Stephanie made a surprise appearance onstage, to the delight of the cheering crowd.

If the pair’s dancing (in the fan-shot video above) doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, the song’s poignant lyrics might: “The truth is someday / Somebody is gonna take her (you see) / But the queen of hearts will always be / A five-year-old princess to me.”

Bon Jovi is currently on the road for the band’s This House Is Not For Sale, named for their latest album.
