An alleged bout of air rage has landed Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan in some serious trouble with police.
The Irish singer was arrested at Shannon Airport following an incident where she allegedly assaulted a member of the Aer Lingus staff. Following the transatlantic flight, O’Riordan is also alleged to have headbutted and spat at a police officer while being arrested. The officer did not require serious medical treatment, but the Aer Lingus cabin crew member is said to have been sent to hospital with a foot injury.
“An incident took place on board flight EI 110 en route from New York to Shannon today, Monday 10th November,”; read a statement from Aer Lingus. “The matter is being investigated by An Garda Siochana. As this is a security matter we will not comment any further.”;
The Limerick Post is reporting that O’Riordan was sent to hospital after being assessed by a doctor while in police custody.
