Poor Darrell Hamilton Jr., a California-based video journalist only wanted a romantic way to propose to his girlfriend Rheanna Lopez when things took a turn for the worst.
While on a private plane right in early February, Hamilton ruined what was supposed to be a touching moment by vomiting immediately after putting the engagement ring on his new fiancee’s finger.

The video of the proposal-gone-wrong has now gone viral with almost 300,000 views.

Hamilton, 26, opened up about the embarrassing incident with ABC News, “Rheanna just really likes outdoors and nature and I thought it’d be a cool idea to give her a nice view,” he said, then adding Lopez, 35, had only flown in a commercial airplane once before.

The journalist also revealed that being nervous wasn’t what made him get sick, “It had nothing to do with being nervous. I got sick from being inside the plane. It was a really small plane and the pilot was helping me look for the sign I made her,” said Hamilton, who had put a “Marry Me?” sign on his cousin’s lawn beforehand. “The tilting kind of messed with my stomach.”
“I couldn’t hold it in much longer,” he continued. “I just tapped her on the shoulder. I didn’t even ask her. I just gave her the ring.”
The couple of two years did have a happy ending, Lopez did say yes despite Hamilton throwing up.
