Viewers of “Mama June: From Not to Hot” have been astonished at the extreme weight loss experienced by “Mama” June Shannon on her new reality show, chronicling her slimming journey as she works to achieve her “revenge body” following her breakup with Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson.

However, rumours have been swirling of some reality-show trickery, with allegations that Shannon had already lost a significant amount of weight prior to filming, and wears a fat suit in the early episodes in order to make the final transformation that much more dramatic.

However, Shannon vehemently denied those allegations during an appearance on iHeartRadio’s “The Domenick Nati Show” on Friday.

“Definitely did not wear a fat suit,” she declared. “I was fat.”

At her heaviest, the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star tipped the scales at 460 pounds until undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 2015. During the interview, Shannon reveals she’s also had some plastic surgery along the way, including, a “tummy tuck, my breasts, my arms, and my face — not face, per se, but my neck.”

As she explains, she got serious about shedding the weight after discovering Sugar Bear cheated on her, and that the reality show didn’t pay for any of her surgeries. “I had to pay just like everybody else,” she told the radio host. “It was going to happen whether I had them [the show] or not.”
