Reporters Will Have To Follow A Dress Code For The US Royal Visit

By Cassie Stokes, .

Duchess Kate and Prince William won’t be the only ones dressed up during their trip to the US. Reporters and crew have been given some style tips straight from Kensington Palace.

Basically women have to wear a trouser or a skirt suit and men a jacket and tie. If any crew even think of turning up looking casual, they won’t be allowed in, according to the guidelines; “Those wearing jeans or trainers will not be admitted and casually dressed members of the media will be turned away.”; It’s as simple as that!

It’s not an easy task covering a royal visit. First, reporters have to officially apply and be approved to cover the visit. Then once they are given the green light they have strict guidelines they have to follow, one being the Palace’s policy on proper dress for covering the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in New York for three days in December and Prince William will also pay a quick visit to Washington, D.C.
