Adele might be renowned for her powerful vocals, but the girl has jokes too!
75,000 die-hard fans filled Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium on Saturday night to watch the “Hello” singer do her thing. Adele, 28, treated the concertgoers to her stellar vocals, but also some personal anecdotes and a hilarious impression of Beyonce.
At one point in the show, Adele flawlessly pulled off Beyonce’s signature hair flip. She stepped over to a nearby wind machine and began flipping her hair back and forth in an ode to her superstar friend.
Earlier in the evening, the songstress teased that fans had come to the wrong place for a good time. Adele jokingly described her concert as “basically just two hours of crying and songs about my ex-boyfriend.” She wore a maroon off-the-shoulder Zuhair Murad gown embroidered with 10,000 Swarovski crystal. “I don’t look like the way you can see me on the screen,” she quipped.
The singer also gestured to audience members near the stage, “These poor f**kers down there, you can see what I really look like!” But she didn’t forget about those in the cheap seats, gifting some fans more than their money’s worth. “You had such sh*t seats, I felt terrible,” Adele addressed the audience at the back of the stadium — leaving handwritten thank-you notes on some seats.
The Melbourne show was a big deal for the singer, as it was the biggest concert ever held at Etihad Stadium.
