Ryan Reynolds may be synonymous with “Deadpool”, but he’ll never escape the horrors of “Green Lantern”.
The Canadian heartthrob appeared on Global’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday. The two laid underneath the stars to ponder life’s greatest questions. “If you could have any superpower, what would it be?” Reynolds, 40, asked Colbert.
“I’d like to have this super cool alien hi-tech ring,” the host replied. “And it’s green and it has a lantern on it, and I can use my imagination to make anything out of green light,” he continued to laughter from the audience.
The Vancouver-native replied “Wow… that’s a really dumb super power.” The joke being, of course, that Reynolds starred as Hal Jordan in 2011’s critically disappointing “Green Lantern”. The movie continues to haunt him in the form of jokes and jabs, but Reynolds rallied fans back with his highly touted performance in 2016’s “Deadpool”.
Reynolds dropped by “The Late Show” to promote his upcoming sci-fi horror film “Life”, also starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson.
He also showed up and interrupted Colbert’s monologue earlier in the show with news… from the past!
You can catch “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on Global. You can also watch full episodes online.
