The songwriters behind the 1999 megahit “No Scrubs” are now acknowledged as co-writers on Ed Sheeran’s chart-topping track “Shape of You”.

The website for performance rights organizations, ASCAP, shows Kandi Burruss, Tameka Cottle aka Tiny and Kevin Briggs as writers on the No. 1 single from Sheeran’s new album “÷” (“Divide”). The song currently reigns supreme over the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“To be a part of such a great song is a blessing,” Tiny said in an email to The Associated Press. Kandi Burruss, who also stars on “The Real Houswives of Atlanta”, acknowledged the news on her official Instagram.

“Shape of You” has spent almost two months at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The song set several streaming records on Spotify, which were only recently broken by Canadian rapper Drake. Just like Sheeran’s popular single, “No Scrubs” also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in the day.

The 26-year-old English singer-songwriter recently announced a North American tour in support of his new album. It will include the seven Canadian dates listed below.

  • July 22: Winnipeg, MTS Centre
  • July 23: Saskatoon, SaskTel Centre
