HBO decided to celebrate the season seven “Game of Thrones” premiere date with a buggy video of ice melting.
The video was witnessed by more than 100,000 — all of whom were greeted with numerous technical difficulties. It turns out even the show’s creators were confused by the whole ordeal.
“Game of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the “Kingslayer” Jaime Lannister, told The Daily Beast he spoke about the strange live stream with show creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff. “They were like, ‘Oh god… That’s embarrassing,'” he revealed.
“It’s like, just walk away… just walk away. It’s just a date!” the actor continued. “You know, I was actually thinking, ‘Is there going to be a backlash and people will think, F**k you guys for that!’ but that has really happened with every time the show kills off a major character: ‘Never again! F**k you! I’m never going to watch this show!’ and, you know, they keep coming back.”
Season seven of the hit television show premieres July 16, 2017. Who knows what kind of stunt HBO might pull next year in preparation for “Game of Thrones” season eight.
