The “Mask of Zorro” star tells Spanish media that “I suffered a heart attack on Jan. 26, but it wasn’t serious and hasn’t caused any damage.” Banderas, 56, underwent a procedure to place three stents in his arteries.
The actor’s health was in question after his visit to a Swiss clinic. Fans were undoubtedly concerned for his well being, but Banderas insists “it hasn’t been as dramatic as some have written.”
Banderas, who has starred in such films as “Desperado,” ”Philadelphia” and the animated “Puss in Boots,” recently spoke at a film festival in his hometown of Malaga in southern Spain on Saturday, March 25.
