Before Nick Jonas takes the stage at ET Canada’s NYE @ Niagara Falls he’s getting into the holiday spirit! The 22-year-old dropped by Toronto’s SickKids Hospital earlier today to help deliver toys and Duracell batteries as part of “Power Smiles” for the Children’s Miracle Network!

Afterwards Nick opened up to ET Canada, telling us: “Health has been a big thing for me as I’ve dealt with my diabetes… very different scale as to what’s going on here today. But I did have a couple of days in the hospital. And I found that the thing that was most encouraging to me when I was first diagnosed was knowing that I wasn’t alone.”

The star has a lot to be thankful for this year with the release of his self-titled sophomore album and hit single “Jealous” life has gone into full throttle.  “It has been a crazy year. Probably the craziest of my life,” he reveals.  “Part of the thing I’m loving doing in this new phase of my life is surprising people and sort of the minute they expect me to do one thing I try to do the opposite.”
