Like mother, like daughter.
That’s definitely the case for Courteney Cox and daughter Coco Arquette, who’s following in her mom’s footsteps by appearing in a music video, just like Cox did back in the 1980s when she shot to fame as a hip-swaying fan brought onstage by Bruce Springsteen in his iconic “Dancing in the Dark” video.
Arquette, 12, co-stars with Matthew RC Taylor in the video for “Wild” (above), the latest from Los Angeles indie pop artist Monogem.
“The video is a dreamy and colourful story about two best friends. I thought it would be interesting to create a visual showing two young teenagers getting wild in their own unique way. Amidst the kids’ smoky, neon reality, the boy is cross dressing for the first time in a safe and comfortable environment without any judgment,” Monogem tells the LadyGunn website. “That is a beautiful thing. With all of the craziness going on in the world today, I felt compelled to deliver this message and lyric to our very important younger generation: ‘Life’s too short to not live wild.'”
Coco’s role in the video earned praise from her parents, who tweeted shout-outs to their daughter’s video venture.
Meanwhile, for old time’s sake, let’s take a dancing stroll down memory lane to check out Coco’s mom in action, boogying with the Boss:
