2014 Whistler Film Festival Announces Winners

The Whistler Film Festival has announced this year’s winners, with director Maxime Giroux’s Felix and Meira winning top honours for Best Canadian Feature, as well as winning the Best Screenplay Award and a Best Director award for Giroux.

Maxime Giroux, was awarded the $15,000 cash prize and the $15,000 post production prize in the 11th edition of the Borsos Competition for Best Canadian Feature Film. “It was a very eclectic and diverse group of films this year, which made for a deep and interesting deliberation,”; reads a statement from this year’s Borsos Jury. “After thoughtful consideration, we came to a unanimous decision to award Felix and Meira with the Borsos Award for Best Canadian Feature.”;

The Canadian ShortWork Award went to Running Season

International ShortWork Award went to The Tide Keeper

Student ShortWork Awarded to Godhead

MPPIA Short Film Award goes to Vehicular Romanticide

Madeleine Grant and Anne Fontaine tie for AWFJ EDA Best Female Directed Film
