Fourteen years after starring in ‘Love Actually’ as widower Daniel, Liam Neeson is reflecting on his late wife, actress Natasha Richardson, and the parallels between the classic role and his own life’s “tapestry”.

“It’s 14 years ago now and we’ve all lived lives. Some of us have died. Oh, my dear old friend Alan Rickman, God rest him,” Neeson told Entertainment Weekly. “Some have gotten divorced. I’ve lost my wife.”

Neeson’s comments come one week after the movie’s Red Nose Day Special wowed eager audiences.

“And, oh, sure, plenty of times I’ve thought about this film and my own life,” he continued. “‘Love Actually’, that’s the way it is. That’s the tapestry of life.”

Richardson died following a ski accident at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec. Though she initially showed no major signs of injury, the British actress was evacuated to a Montreal-area hospital where she was soon joined by Neeson who had been filming in Toronto. The “Parent Trap” star was then transported to a New York City hospital where she passed away with her family by her side.

The couple welcomed two sons together, Micheal and Daniel, who are now 21 and 20, respectively.
