Although Murray Foster has known Jian Ghomeshi since the two were teenagers, he says that when the scandal hit, he and the rest of the former members of Moxy Früvous were as shocked as the rest of the country. “I just spent a week kind of reading comments sections of newspapers, kinda stunned basically and heartbroken,”; says Foster, currently a member of Canadian band Great Big Sea. “We started to get media requests, the three other Früvous members and so we had to have a pow-wow and discuss what we wanted to say. That was very tough, too. It affected all of us. a pretty hard week for sure.”;
A founding member of Moxy Früvous, Foster says he hasn’t really been close with the disgraced former CBC host in more than a decade. “We haven’t been close for 15 years at least,”; Foster tells ET Canada.
Reading news story after news story filled with horrifying accusations leveled against Ghomeshi, Foster says he was just as surprised as any Q listener. “I read it all with the same kind of shock and horror that the rest of Canada did,”; he says. “I was stunned.
