Add “Real Housewives of Miami” star Joanna Krupa among the many women who are preserving their fertility through oocyte cryopreservation.
According to People, the model and newly married wife says that she and her husband aren’t ready to have children yet, so she’s freezing her eggs.
“One of my best friends had a tough time getting pregnant, and her situation had me really thinking about freezing my eggs,”; says Krupa, while getting a check-up at The Fertility Institutes in Encino, California.”;I don’t want to regret [not doing it] two, three years down the line, when I’m trying to have kids, in case for some reason I’m infertile. I would never forgive myself.”;
Krupa says that her main issue with the procedure, as a working model- which includes blood work and hormone injections- is build-up of water within the body. “I know it can be two, five, even 11 pounds of water retention.”;
