Many of us grew up watching the 1982 classic Annie starring Aileen Quinn with those glorious ginger curls! Well, Annie is in for a 2014 reboot and has a brand new all-star cast.

ET Canada“s Roz Weston sat down with Cameron Diaz and Bobby Cannavale and found out that it was a no-brainer to get involved with this project. “I feel like the smartest person in the entire world because…I got chosen for the job,”; Cameron told us. Bobby added, “There’s not many opportunities to do a musical. They don’t make them anymore, so that was a big motivator for me.”;

Cameron had a lot of fun on set, playing the drunk foster mother Miss Hannigan. “When they say “action’, it is the happiest time in my life…anytime that you get the permission to yell at kids,”; she joked. But she wasn’t the only one having fun. The mood on set was always jovial…it’s a musical afterall. How can you be negative when singing and dancing?

But every now and then, Bobby’s past would catch up with him. His past role — as “Gyp Rosetti”; from Boardwalk Empire — was an extremely violent character on the show. “I had a few moments in the movie where Will (the director) had to say to me…’dude, you’re not going to murder her, that’s not an option’…so you gotta change your face. So maybe some of that bled over.”; Rest assured, this is still Annie and no orphans were harmed in the making of this movie.
