It’s been nearly 20 years since Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts starred in the drama “Stepmom”, but now, the “Feud” star is squashing rumours she ever fought with her co-star on the set of the 1998 film.
Sarandon, who stars as screen legend Bette Davis in the series “Feud: Bette And Joan”, was live-tweeting the series’ latest episode on Sunday when the Oscar-winning actress brought up the alleged feud with Roberts.

“Press printed that Julia & I hated each other during ‘Stepmom’,” she tweeted, linking to a 1998 Entertainment Weekly article that disputed the feud. “Found out it was my PR person creating rumours.” Sarandon did not elaborate on what happened after she discovered the source of the gossip.
In the drama, Sarandon played Jackie, a woman stricken with cancer who must come to terms with the fact that Isabel, played by Roberts, would become a stepmother to her children and raise the family after her inevitable death. While their characters may have had some friction on screen, the actresses were friendly, even producing the film together in real life.
Now, Sarandon may be locked in a heated battle on-screen with co-star Jessica Lange in “Feud: Bette And Joan”, but she’s quick to sing the praises of Lange, who plays Joan Crawford in the series.
“The #1 question I get in interviews is whether Jessica and I get along,” she tweeted. “Jess and I not only got along great during filming, we’re now dating.”
