Milla Jovovich: I Always Knew When To Say ‘No’

By Chandra Price.

In the sexy October issue of FLARE, Milla Jovovich talks childhood bullying, finding love and how her mother kept her on the straight and narrow when she was growing up.

“I always knew when to say “no,'”; the Ukranian-born actress says in an intimate interview with the magazine. Milla explains how her mother used to scare her straight, “always whispering in my ear, “I’ll kill myself if anything happens to you!'”;

She also survived childhood bullying when she was in school, telling FLARE what got her through was she “knew it was temporary.”; “School is going to disappear,”; she adds. “And there’s a whole future out there.”;

And her future turned out to be bright indeed, now starring in “Resident Evil: Retribution”; and she fell in love with the franchise’s director Paul W.S. Anderson, with whom she has a 4-year-old daughter, Ever: “It kind of seems typical, but there’s no one else that you talk with as much as the director. If you’re going to fall in love, it’s hard for it not to happen with that person – the one you’re spending the most time with and having the most interesting conversations. I think it would have been challenging for me to have made the movies and had a boyfriend that wasn’t working on the film too, because you get so into it.”;
