To launch our coverage of the Canada’s Walk of Fame tribute show, airing this Friday on Global, we’re airing a backstage interview with an honoured inductee every day this week.

And for the country’s national sweetheart, Rachel McAdams, receiving a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame was beyond anything she could have predicted feeling.

“I feel like I’m floating. It’s very surreal,” she tells Cheryl Hickey at the gala. “I am honoured beyond words.”

McAdams received her induction within the “Acting” genre. But despite being one of Hollywood’s leading women, she still maintains an extremely humble and genuine attitude.

“I think I double checked that they were asking me because I don’t know, I feel like I’m a little baby when it comes to this industry,” she says.

McAdams first got serious recognition for her role in the 2004 romantic drama, The Notebook. Ever since then, the actress has set a course to Tinseltown stardom, with critically acclaimed performances in films like Red Eye, Sherlock Holmes and Midnight in Paris.

Watch a clip of our interview with McAdams below and tune-in tonight at 7:30 pm ET/PT for our full backstage interview:
