Lou Reed, Joan Jett & Green Day Headline 2015’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class

By Dan MacRae, .

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has just revealed their latest wave of inductees. The class of 2015 features: Lou Reed, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Bill Withers and The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

Yes, Green Day are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We’re all aging rapidly and it’s very scary. Deal with it.

Cleveland’s Public Hall will play host to the induction ceremony on April 18. Ringo Starr will be honoured at the event with the Award for Musical Excellence.

“It’s surreal and very humbling,”; said Joan Jett on getting selected for the hallowed rock hall. “It’s a culmination of all you’ve dreamed about doing as a musician. I’ve always been hopeful [that I’d get in] because I think it’s an incredible acknowledgment. I’m very proud to be with all these great musicians. It’s going to take a few minutes to sink in before I see how I really feel about it.”;

Not to be all Debbie Downer, but this year once again featured some noteworthy snubs. N.W.A., Chic, Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths and Kraftwerk all failed to get the nod to be enshrined in Cleveland.
