Former First Lady Jackie Onassis once asked Alec Baldwin out on a date — and he accepted, despite the fact there was a nearly 30-year difference in their ages.
The revelation comes from James Hart, a longtime friend of Onassis, who recently published his memoir, Lucky Jim.
According to People, Hart — who’s married to “You’re So Vain” singer Carly Simon — writes that Onassis often sought his opinion on men, and one night called him up about his “good friend” Alec Baldwin.
“‘Well, do you think Alec could be my date for the theatre on my birthday?’” Hart recalls Onassis asking him prior to her 62nd birthday (Baldwin was then 33).
