Wonder Woman Gal Gadot is thanking Beyonce for her superhero role.
Clad in a Burberry trench coat, the 32-year-old actress graces the cover of the May issue of W magazine, and talks about her auditioning for a part in “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice”. The actress reveals she had no idea she was auditioning for the role of the iconic heroine.
“When I auditioned for ‘Batman v Superman’, I didn’t know it was for Wonder Woman. The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture,” she tells the magazine. “They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us.”

The actress admits to being a little impatient when it comes to playing the waiting game. But, luckily for us, she had some music to occupy her time and calm her audition nerves.
“Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind,” she explains. “So, I decided to put on Beyonce. Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé!”
While Gadot seems like the obvious choice to play the fierce warrior who will headline her own standalone film, not everyone was pleased with her initial casting.
“Cause my boobs were too small,” she says of the online backlash she received when her casting was announced. “Yeah, that was a big problem. The Web really paid attention to the important side of Wonder Woman.”
“Growing up in Israel,” she says, “I didn’t know much about Wonder Woman. But it’s like Superman – a household name.”
The Israeli actress and former Miss Israel appears confident in her high-profile roles now, but she tells W she turned down the chance to play a Bond Girl in the 2006 James Bond film, “Quantum Of Solace”. The role eventually went to Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko.
“I said, ‘No way.’ I said, ‘I’m studying law and international relations. I’m way too serious and smart to be an actress, and besides, the script is all in English.’ I spoke English, but I wasn’t comfortable with it,” she adds.
