Not a great holiday season so far for Jody Claman. B.C.’s Supreme Court has ruled the former Real Housewives of Vancouver star must pay her ex husband a whopping $600,000 by mid January.
Judge Miriam Gropper denied Jody’s request for an extension, arguing the TV personality has had more than enough time to raise the appropriate funds.
“I can’t get that kind of money by then,” a distraught Jody told reporters outside the courthouse. “All my properties have been mortgaged and I have bad credit.”
Should the payment not be made in full by January 15, the court will allow Jody’s ex, mining executive Aran Friedlander, to sell three of the family’s properties.
To make matters worse for Jody, Aran will request the court have her cover his legal costs, which could total an additional $300,000.
The couple’s divorce was finalized on October 10 after a lengthy trial.
