Sony’s legal team has been working overtime after the media company’s computer systems were hacked, and Sony’s high-profile attorney is threatening to sue Twitter for allowing its users to spread information that was uncovered by the hack on its social media platform.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony lawyer David Boies sent a letter to Twitter’s general counsel, Vijaya Gadde, threatening that if “stolen information continues to be disseminated by Twitter in any manner,”; Sony will “hold Twitter responsible for any damage or loss arising from such use or dissemination by Twitter.”;

In addition, Sony also asked Twitter to share the letter with Val Broeksmit (known on Twitter by the handle @bikinrobotarmy), who has been posting screenshots of the hacked emails.

Not only does Sony threaten to hold Twitter responsible for “dissemination of stolen Sony property,”; the letter also demands that Twitter “comply with all future requests with regard to any other account holder seeking to disseminate the Stolen Information via Twitter. In addition, we ask that you provide the Account Holder with a copy of this letter, and request that the account holder cease publication of the stolen information on Twitter.”;
