Drake has some choice words for the exclusive country club he stayed at during the busy first weekend of Coachella.
The Canadian rapper took to Instagram to share his disgust for The Madison Club in La Quinta, California, whom he claims racially profiled him.
Drizzy wrote, “The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling #Coachella,” underneath a photo of the club’s name. Drake has yet to specify how the club racially profiled him.
The Instagram post has since been deleted but TMZ reports the owners of the club commented an apology, “We are trying to get this issue fixed as soon as possible. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and for you to experience such a thing is embarrassing for us.”
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we will be issuing out a formal apology to you and the public. We will also be investigating this as we do not tolerate racial discrimination,” they continued.
Champagne Papi’s fans were quick to defend the rapper by taking to the club’s Yelp page and leaving comments. One fan wrote: “Stop racial profiling and using skin colour to determine who you will accommodate,” while another said, “I was bumping some Drizzy in my room and they came in and said to turn it down but I had my headphones on so it didn’t even make sense. They must have had cameras in the room and saw me dabbing and cha cha’ing to ‘Hotline Bling’. 0 stars will never come back again.”
Twitter exploded with reaction as well:
Drake isn’t a part of Coachella’s official lineup but did make a surprise appearance during rapper Future’s set this past weekend.
