John Legend’s life with wife Chrissy Teigen and daughter Luna might seem perfect on social media but he assures his fans that they’re only human.
The 38-year-old R&B singer was chosen as one of Time‘s 100 Most Influential People of 2017 — along with Oscar winner Viola Davis and “The Night Of” star Riz Ahmed — and praises his supermodel wife for her recent op-ed where she talked about her struggle with postpartum depression.
“My wife just wrote very candidly about what she went through with postpartum depression and dealing with the aftermath of having a child,” Legend says. “We’re very happy in our relationship and very happy to be parents, but, like everybody, we’re human and we have challenges.”
“No one should think that our lives are perfect,” the “Ordinary People” singer adds.
Legend also notes that, like most new moms and dads, they love to share photos of their 1-year-old daughter. “We’re like other parents. We’re excited to post pictures of our babies,” he says with a laugh. “We’re just being as natural as we can be in a kind of surreal world.”
Prior to Teigen writing about her postpartum depression, the 31-year-old supermodel candidly spoke to ET about how her attitude has changed since giving birth last April. Check it out:
