Blake Lively’s Impassioned Speech To End Child Pornography: ‘I Would Literally Die For’ My Kids

Blake Lively is committed to ridding the world of an evil and she said she would go to any length to do so.

Lively, 29, delivered an emotional speech against child pornography during Variety‘s Power of Women event in New York City on Friday, April 21. “I would do anything to protect them, I would literally die for them without a moment’s thought,” she said of her two daughters —  James, 2, and Ines, 6 months — whom she shares with husband Ryan Reynolds.

“For those of you who have children, I think you know what I’m talking about,” Lively continued. “I mean if you think of what you would do for you child, I don’t think there’s anything you wouldn’t ask yourself.”

“The Shallows” actress explained how child pornography was a Boogeyman she tried to ignore, but has since learned more about. “I didn’t really know what child pornography was, I was afraid to ask, as a mother, because it would be painful to hear,” she added. “But I felt like I had to ask, and I feel like I have to share it with you guys now.”

“It is disturbing, and I want to warn you, but I feel like it’s my responsibility to tell you guys because it is the truth, and I believe if we all knew this, we would dedicate much more of ourselves to stopping it.”
