Lady Gaga Dedicates ‘Edge Of Glory’ To Cancer-Stricken Friend During Coachella Performance

Lady Gaga returned to the Coachella stage on Saturday night for her second weekend headlining set, with her performance taking an emotional turn.

According to the Press-Enterprise, Gaga delivered a career-spanning set that opened with “Scheiße” and included such hits as “Born This Way” and “Million Reasons” before closing with “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance”.

It was during her performance of “The Edge of Glory”, however, that things took an emotional turn when she dedicated the song to Sonja Durham, a friend who has been battling cancer since 2012.

“My friend Sonja is very sick and I love her so much,” Gaga told the crowd, “and if it’s OK with you, I’d like to sing this song for her.”

Added Gaga in the middle of the song: “We all wish you were here with us.”
