* In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Memento director Christopher Nolan has confirmed the rumours that he doesn’t own a cell phone or have an email address. That’s right, the guy that’s provided the world with such tech-heavy flicks as Interstellar, Inception and the Dark Knight trilogy has taken a pass on everyday conveniences that even your great-grandparents have been glued to for years.
“Well, I’ve never used email because I don’t find it would help me with anything I’m doing,”; explained the filmmaker. “I just couldn’t be bothered about it. As far as the cellphone goes, it’s like that whole thing about “in New York City, you’re never more than two feet from a rat’ — I’m never two feet from a cellphone. I mean, we’ll be on a scout with 10 people and all of them have phones, so it’s very easy to get in touch with me when people need to. When I started in this business, not many people had cellphones, I didn’t have one, I never bothered to get one and I’ve been very fortunate to be working continuously, so there’s always someone around me who can tap me on the shoulder and hand me a phone if they need to. I actually really like not having one because it gives me time to think.”; Sadly, the publication failed to press Chris on if he owns a BatPhone or uses BatMail. [The Hollywood Reporter]

* Could you picture Eddie Redmayne taking on the furry footed role of Bilbo Baggins? It turns out that the English actor (y’know, the guy that’s earned raves for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything) once auditioned to play the beloved J.R.R. Tolkien character. The acclaimed thespian dished about the experience during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show and even provided a taste of what his audition was like. Eddie’s unique reenactment and immeasurable charm in telling the story scores some major laughs and even inspires fellow guest Anna Kendrick to give him props for telling the story.
