Caitlyn Jenner held nothing back while appearing on “Live With Kelly” on Tuesday morning to promote her new memoir, The Secrets of My Life.
While speaking with morning show host Kelly Ripa and her guest co-host John Leguizamo, the 67-year-old former U.S. Olympian candidly questioned the actor about his experience dressing in drag for his role in the 1995 cult drama, “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar”.
“I have to complement you on ‘To Wong Foo’. You did good at the end baby!” Jenner exclaimed, while addressing Leguizamo. “I watched it a bunch of times, and I said, ‘Hey! You came through on that. Looking good!'” She then pried, “How was the experience?”
“It was hard,” the 52-year-old actor admitted, adding, “the pinching bra, the gender-bender thing, the shoes, the wig, the plucking of the eyebrows. I feel like I was tortured in Guantanamo. It was rough.”
Amongst laughter from the audience, Jenner jokingly added, “You have to read the book and see what I got through to get here.”
Jenner recently received some criticism about her new memoir from her ex, Kris Jenner, on a recent episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, where the momager claimed that her former husband’s writings were “all made up.”
Meanwhile, Jenner responded on “Good Morning America”, saying that while “there’s different opinions,” she feels as though “the book is extraordinarily honest” and from her “perspective.”
