When Pharrell Williams isn’t setting the music industry on fire, he is setting the standard for men’s fashion.
The “Happy” singer made fashion history as the first man to ever star in a Chanel bag campaign. Pharrell, 44, is the star of a new short film from the fashion house promoting their Gabrielle bag.
The video show’s N*E*R*D’s lead vocalist causing a little mischief in an empty concert hall — hopping onto equipment boxes and tip-toeing across a low scaffold.
Pharrell’s partnership with Chanel was announced in March. The fashion brand’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, told Women’s Wear Daily the Grammy-winning male artist was cast to show how the Gabrielle bag can be worn in “many different circumstances… It’s not very feminine in the sense of being chichi.”
Mr. Williams will be joined in the campaign by fellow stars Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne and French model Caroline de Maigret.
