James Corden Can’t Escape From Kurt Russell On ‘The Late Late Show’

Kurt Russell famously escaped from New York in the John Carpenter directed classic, and a few years later escaped from L.A. in the sequel.

The tables are turned in a sketch from Thursday’s “Late Late Show” when it’s host James Corden who must do the escaping, and what he’s escaping from is Russell.

In the sketch, Russell is depicted as a manly dude who’s prone to say hello with a bruising punch in the arm, with the actor’s escalating escapades becoming too much for Corden to handle (above).

Later in the show, Russell receives a surprise courtesy of fellow guest Thomas Middleditch of HBO comedy “Silicon Valley”, who shares a photo of himself as a gawky youngster wearing a “Backdraft” T-shirt (Russell was among the stars of the 1991 firefighter drama directed by Ron Howard). Russell’s reaction is priceless:
