Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd Perform 25 Years After Los Angeles Riots

Kendrick Lamar made a moving guest appearance at The Weeknd’s Los Angeles show on the 25th anniversary of the riots.

The Weeknd was performing at the Forum in L.A. on Saturday, April 29 when Lamar humbly joined him onstage. The Compton-rapper, whose songs have become an anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement, performed two tracks for the live audience.

First, Lamar teamed up with Canada’s “Starboy” singer to perform their collaborative track “Sidewalks”, before breaking out into a solo performance of “HUMBLE.”

The special live act took place exactly 25 years after the Los Angeles’ infamous riots in response to the acquittal of four cops who beat a black man on tape.

Lamar’s latest album “DAMN.” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, while The Weeknd is on a global tour following the success of “Starboy”.
