Katy Perry can’t catch a break as of late.
The “Roar” singer rubbed some people the wrong way after comparing her old hairdo to former U.S. President Barack Obama. Perry, 32, recently unveiled her hot new ultra-short blonde pixie cut.
But the bold hairstyle unintentionally led to unwanted attention for the singer. “Oh, someone says, ‘I miss your old black hair,'” Perry said on Instagram Live over the weekend. “Oh, really? Do you miss Barack Obama as well? Oh, OK. Times change. Bye! See you guys later.”
Perry then started laughing before quipping “I should leave now,” as someone in the background told the singer “You’re cut off!”
People on Twitter were quick to denounce Perry’s sense of humour.
Just this past week, Perry was criticized by some users online for collaborating with Migos on “Bon Appetit”. Several fans were concerned that Perry, who was presented with an LGBT award last month, was collaborating with rappers alleged to have made homophobic remarks.
The song has been well-received by critics since its release on Friday, April 28.
