Macklemore & Ryan Lewis might be in deep trouble over their breakthrough hit “Thrift Shop”, according to TMZ. The hip hop duo are reportedly being sued over the track’s beat and horn melodies.

New Orleans-based jazz musician Paul Batiste is said to be the man behind the lawsuit. He is reportedly accusing Macklemore & Ryan Lewis of borrowing heavily from his songs “Hip Jazz” and “World of Blues”.

Batiste is also believed to be suing over “Neon Cathedral”, another song from the duo’s debut studio album “The Heist”. The jazz musician is said to want profits from both “Thrift Shop” and “Neon Cathedral”.
