Alec Baldwin Reveals ‘SNL’ Asked President Trump To Appear This Season, ‘But He Didn’t Show Up’

Judging by Donald Trump’s Twitter account, he’s no fan of “Saturday Night Live” (“Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!” the president once tweeted), and Alec Baldwin had a Trump-tastic revelation to share with Ellen DeGeneres during his Wednesday appearance on her daytime talk show.

“I can’t imagine what it would be like if I met him, if I ran into him,” Baldwin says of encountering the man he parodies so brutally on “SNL”.

“When we did the show — when I hosted ‘SNL’ this season — we asked him to come,” Baldwin reveals. “We invited him to come, we were so hopeful he would come, but he didn’t show up.”

While viewers were left to ponder the Trump-vs.-Trump showdown that could have been, Baldwin also discussed raising three young children before being joined by a special guest: his adorable daughter Carmen.

During his appearance, Baldwin also played a round of “5 Second Rule” with a member of the studio audience. Watch:
