Kendall Jenner Appears On The Cover Of ‘Vogue India’ And Nobody’s Happy About It

Hot off the controversy of appearing in a universally despised Pepsi ad about the world’s prettiest protest, it looks like Kendall Jenner has stepped right into another.

The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star and top model is no stranger to appearing on magazine covers, but her latest cover is raising some eyebrows as numerous people took to social media to express their dismay and wonderment as to why Jenner would be chosen to appear on the cover of Vogue India in honour of its 10th anniversary issue.

Many are wondering why the magazine, which ostensibly celebrates fashion for a target market of Indian women, would place a non-Indian on its cover when there are so many Indian models who could have been chosen instead.

The reaction on Twitter ranged from outrage to bemusement to outright mockery, using phrases such as “cultural hegemony” and “does she even know what Bollywood is?” Some even mocked her back-arching poses in the pages of the mag.
