With only $200 million away from being a billionaire, it’s no surprise that Diddy’s topped Forbes’ richest hip-hop artist list for the seventh year in a row.
His endorsement deals with Diego’s Ciroc, alkaline water Aquahydrate and DeLeon tequila all contribute to his estimated $820 million net worth and his number one ranking. Diddy also founded Revolt digital cable TV network back in 2013.
Last year, Diddy placed with top marks on Forbes’ highest paid celebrities ranking, with his yearly earnings estimated at $62 million, earning the rapper 22nd place.
Jay Z came a close second this year at $810 million, followed by Dr. Dre at $740 million, both with ties to major music streaming services. Jay Z with Tidal, which Forbes mentioned is worth 10 times more than what he paid for it in 2015 and Dre with Apple Music and Beats Electronics.
Both Jay and Dre have continually swapped between second and third place for the last several years.
Canada’s own Drake placed fifth in 2017 with $90 million.
