The awards shows just keep coming, and next up is this Sunday’s SAG Awards (and you can watch the red carpet coverage live right here on etcanada.com and tune-in to the show live on Global)!
Julianne Moore will be up against Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon once again for Best Actress, but this is the last nomination for Aniston. Of course we all know by now that Jennifer missed out on an Oscar nomination, and for this week’s Soundoff, ET Canada producers Kate Morawetz and Graeme O’Neil are wondering if her snub really matters at all. Graeme thinks it fits perfectly into Jen’s career narrative, but Kate thinks it’s time for us to start changing our opinion of Jen.
But it doesn’t seem like anyone (sorry Reese) can stop the Julianne Juggernaut. With her performance as a professor suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s in Still Alice, everyone seems to be remembering that Julianne Moore has never won an Oscar (this is her fifth nomination). Kate and Graeme take some time to remember some of her best performances. What’s yours?
The real race is in Best Actor, where it seems to be a showdown between veteran Michael Keaton (Birdman) and relative newbie Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything). The two actors both won Globes because of the two Best Actor categories, but they go head-to-head at the SAGs, and Graeme thinks the choice is very clear who should win – but could a certain sniper take over the Oscar race?
Plus, Kate and Graeme discuss the Selma snub and how John Legend could soon be a little more connected to Graeme. Kinda weird.
